Las Vegas with the Family

After  the heartbreaking events that occurred in our family in 2008-2009, the death of Billie and Freddie, Mike and I planned a fun packed trip to Las Vegas in March with my family. We reserved two suites at our time share for the eight of us and loaded all two days with activities. The weather was great for Las Vegas and maybe because of the economy places weren't too crowded.

We arrived at our Polo Tower two bedroom suites Tuesday night. Debbie, Mark, Mike and I roomed in one suite while Sherri, Chip, Mom and Dad were down the hall in the other. Mike and I had never stayed at this time share resort  before and hoped it would be nice. It was. Well furnished with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen and living room in each suite. Located right on the "Strip" we could walk to many places, including a food court with McDonalds. The first evening Mike and I made a chicken and broccoli casserole compliments of Stouffers frozen food. Our stay was short but we saw and did a lot.

Close and cheap.

The love birds Chip and Sherri. They appear blurry because they haven't had enough sleep and Sherri has taken her Darvocets to help her thru the "Vegas Adventure". This is the way the world looks to her!

...just kidding.

Debbie and Mark. "Clearly" ready to go and win some money!

Dad and Mike in front of the MGM lion. We pick up the
tickets for that nights  Cirque DeSoleil performance of KA.
We had perfect seats and were mesmerized as we watched!

First premiering in November 2004 , became Cirque's fourth resident show in Las Vegas. It was also the largest and most expensive production the company had created to date. By the time it had been completed, it cost more than $220 million, of which more than $30 million was in costumes and $135 million was the theater itself, the bill for which was paid entirely by the MGM Grand.

Typical Las Vegas tourists! Notice all the cash...and the doggie.

This is not us!

Not being much of a gambling family we didn't come home with lots of cash. Mike and Dad did spend time playing the penny slot machines. A big win there is $3! Other than the time spent together having fun the high points of our trip were Cirque De Soleil and Terry Fator.

Terry with Vicki the Cougar
"Terry Fator captured the hearts...and funny bones...of America with his rousing victory on "America's Got Talent." Now he  brings his hilarious live show to The Mirage in Terry Fator & His Cast of Thousands. New impressions, new celebrity voices, new puppets and pure entertainment. He and his  cast of unique puppets  fills the stage with celebrity singing impressions and unparalleled ventriloquism, backed by a sizzling live band."

We totally enjoyed this thanks to Mom and Dad treating us all to this show on the last night of our stay.
